The Apprenticeship Program incorporates community members into the SCLC’s programs to help them gain new skills and improve their future job prospects. Community members work as assistants to a program coordinator, who guides and supports them throughout their apprenticeship. The apprenticeship requires a commitment of at least three months and six hours of work per week. In addition to professional development opportunities, apprentices also receive free English classes and computer training and are encouraged to attend staff meetings.
