This year the SCLC celebrated Halloween in Chilamate in true fashion with a local "fun-d-raiser"!
On Saturday the 27th of October, children from different parts of town joined us in a small Halloween Fair with games such as face painting, mask creating and competion, bobbing for apples, musical chairs, and a haunted house. The SCLC high school Scholarship students planned and prepared the Haunted house for the younger kids featuring spider webs, screams, mummies, and scary eyeballs to touch!!

It was a cool, wet morning when the high school scholarship students arrived at the Sarapiquí Conservation Learning Center (SCLC). It had been damp and drizzling all morning; however, this did not deter the students from coming. All were ready and excited to do their part in protecting their beautiful rainforest by cleaning up the local Sarapiquí River.

 Teachers in Pital acting out the parts of a tree Teachers and environmental educators from Sarapiquí and Pital gathered to learn and share about the environment recently at two environmental education workshops held in the region. The workshops were organized and hosted by the Sarapiqui Conservation Learning Center. A majority of each day focused on the use of educational activities from Project Learning Tree and complemented by background information on local watersheds and biological corridors. The educator workshops were a collaboration of Holbrook Travel, Project Learning Tree, and the Sarapiquí Conservation Learning Center (SCLC).
