The Sarapiquí region is one of the poorest in the country. The SCLC firmly believes that education is the key to opening economic opportunities and improving the quality of life, and will be very important for successful sustainable development in the region. While public school is free, there are many associated costs.

The Scholarship Program makes high school and university possible for students and their families who would otherwise be unable to afford it. The money helps to cover the costs of uniforms, books, food, transportation and, in some cases, housing. The SCLC´s high school scholarship program has already made a vital difference for dozens of local students over the past decade, some of whom now hold jobs in education and ecotourism. With your support, SCLC can continue providing an opportunity for academically promising, but financially limited, students to attend high school and college.  

As a High School Scholarship donor you would donate $250 a year for a student to finish 6 years of college.
As a University Scholarhsip Donor you would donate $500 a year depending on the students college career.
