Dates of position: December 29, 2008 until June 30, 2009 and June 15 until December 23, 2009

Job Description

• Facilitate tourist groups’ participation in SCLC’s activities
• Communicate with international travel agencies and schedule activities
• Arrange local conservation/community service projects for tourists
• Arrange cultural activities for tourists such as dance and cooking classes, led by local community members
• Educate tourists about the local community through charlas, school visits, and informational materials at the SCLC
• Arrange and facilitate SCLC’s nightly activities at SVL
• Facilitate partnerships between local institutions and visiting groups
• Promote SCLC at local hotels
• Provide initial assessment to community members interested in ecotourism projects'

Job Requirements

• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Ability to communicate effectively in both speaking and writing
• Experience in tourism
• Basic computer and organizational skills
